Ken Brubaker aka “Coach B”
This is Coach B, the founder of GP Select. I became involved
with coaching lacrosse back in 1999 in the Grosse Pointe Community.
My ultimate goal with GP Select is to provide Michigan JV and
Varsity players a competitive and positive lacrosse experience
during the summer. I also have made it a goal to encourage former GP
Select and other college level players to contribute by coaching
with us over the summer. I feel giving back may be more important
than playing.
I have always been concerned about the absence of a local platform
for Michigan lacrosse players to work on their skills during the
off-season. GP Select gives our young men a venue to improve their
skill level, and be showcased in front of regional and national
college lacrosse coaches.
I am committed to continuously improving my program. I will make
sure college coaches from all levels attend our events see and
contact GP Select players. My college coaches contact list is
extensive.
I am an avid student and promoter of the game. I am proud to have
dedicated hundreds of hours coaching, watching, and playing the
sport of lacrosse. I have spent as much time or more researching
coaching methods and techniques. It is my love and my passion. I
have gladly dedicated a portion of my life to this great sport. My
reward is seeing players I have coached doing well at lacrosse and
in life.
Team play, sportsmanship, respect of teammates, opponents, coaches,
and officials are the foundation of what I teach. My team motto is
“honor the game”. I continually stress that to my players and
coaching staff. The history and culture of this great game is
paramount to me.
